So What Is Alphamine and What Are The Ingredients for Alphamine?
The active ingredients used in Alphamine are listed below. The formula is proprietary, and so the company does not have to release the individual ingredient quantities used in the product. However, the company has stated that each 3 gram scoop contains 1577.5 mg of the Alphamine FIT matrix, which includes 125 mg of caffeine anhydrous.
Serving Size : 1 Scoop (3 g)
Servings Per Container: 84
Alphamine FIT Matrix (1,577.5mg) – Lean Performance System
- Choline Bitartrate: Athletes use this when bodybuilding and for delaying fatigue.
- Alpha-Hydroxy-Isocaproic Acid: A currently under-researched ingredient, there is currently a single study that shows its use leads to increased gains in lean muscle mass in training athletes. There appears to be no effect upon fat mass at all.
- Eucommia Ulmoides Leaf (98% Chlorgenic Acid): Preliminary evidence suggests that Eucommia Ulmoides Leaf could play a role in reducing fat mass, although there is a lack of evidence from studies in humans at this time. It also helps to regulate insulin sensitivity.
- Olive Leaf Extract: Olive Leaf Extract is used for treating infections and viruses such as the common cold. It is also used to treat chronic fatigue; if this is effective, it could help athletic endurance. Studies also show that the consumption of olive leaf extracts, even in small quantities, reduces LDL Cholesterol levels, and can lower blood pressure. Also appears to boost the production of thyroid hormones, which should indirectly boost the metabolism. However, the resultant weight loss results were minimal or non-existent, suggesting that its metabolic boosting effects are fairly insignificant.
- Caffeine Anhydrous (125mg): Numerous studies have shown that caffeine boosts energy levels and alertness, as well as mildly boosting the metabolism, causing a small increase in the number of calories used by the body. The effects shown in studies are small, and some studies are inconclusive.
- Higenamine HCl: This is chemical that acts as a stimulant. It is thought to work in a similar way to ephedrine and synephrine from bitter orange extract, but appears to be not as potent.
- Pausinystalia Yohimbe (Bark) Extract (SA2-A): Some studies have noticed increased blood concentrations of free fatty acids in participants who use yohimbe extract, suggesting increased rates of lipolysis. However, the Natural Medicines Comprehensive Database has stated that there is insufficient evidence to claim it aids in weight loss.
So What Does All This Mean?
Whilst quite a few of these ingredients are still under-researched in humans, overall they are promising. With a few stimulants that increase the metabolism, including caffeine, and Eucommia Ulmoides Leaf, which appears to help to decrease fat mass.
There are also numerous ingredients that could benefit athletes and regular gym-goers, through helping to build lean muscle mass, and by reducing muscle soreness and fatigue after physical activity.
Does Alphamine Have Any Side Effects?
Because there are limited studies into many of the ingredients, it is possible that not all of the possible side effects of these ingredients are documented- for example, Higenamine is largely under-researched, and could have side effects typically associated with stimulants such as increased heart rate, heart palpitations and increased sweating, although none of these have been confirmed.
Caffeine can cause headaches, increased blood pressure, increased heart rate, heart palpitations, increased urination, jitteriness, dehydration and insomnia.
Choline is likely safe in appropriate amounts, but as this is a proprietary formula and so the amounts used are unknown. Increased dose are more likely to cause side effects such as sweating, a fishy body odour, gastrointestinal distress, diarrhoea, and vomiting.
Yohimbe has been linked with irregular or rapid heartbeat, kidney failure, seizure, and heart attack in rare cases.
More common side effects include stomach upset, tremor, sleep problems, anxiety or agitation, high blood pressure, a racing heartbeat, dizziness, stomach problems, drooling, sinus pain, irritability, headache, frequent urination, bloating, rash, nausea, and vomiting. It may also interact with caffeine, increasing the chances of side effects.

Any Alphamine Reviews From Customers?
There are numerous reviews of Alphamine available from customers, as it is sold on a variety of online retail stores, including Bodybuilding.com and Amazon.com. Whilst many of the reviews are positive, there are a small but significant number of poor reviews from the product:
I must be Mr. Opposite. This stuff gave me a voracious appetite. The first week I used it – I gained 4 pounds. I stopped using it and my appetite returned to normal and I lost the 4 pounds. I tried again the week after and I took it in the morning, and sure enough – I was trying to eat everything in sight for the rest of the day. This may work for some, but others – beware, it may have an opposite effect.
This stuff makes me feel like what I imagine smoking a whole bunch of crack would make you feel like. Also I get hungry. Boo to this.
Some of the negative reviews on amazon mention numerous faulty products being delivered, with the quality seal being ripped and the product being affected. Customers who have experienced this recommend using a more professional distributer such as bodybuilding.com or the manufacturer themselves.
Despite the few negative reviews, the overall feedback on this positive is generally very good, with customers reporting significant appetite suppression and a significant energy boost, with no crash or jitters, as well as actually losing weight.
I really never review things on amazon. But, then I realized that many people only review if a product is bad to warn other people. So I thought I would reverse that trend and say that I used this product and loved it. I never got tired of the taste. Every morning I would drink it right before work. It would wake me up just fine. I never really had the jitters, but I also didn’t drink any coffee while on this. After a month of use and adjusting my diet I managed to go from 170 to 155ish. None of my max lifts went down, although they did not go up as quickly as when I am not cutting.
I would drink this in the morning, then about 1 hour later I would have a bowl of oatmeal with a scoop of chia seeds and that would keep me full well past lunch. Many times I had to force myself to eat.
Like any workout product, some things work for people and some don’t. This worked surprisingly good for me and that is why I am giving it 5 stars.
I lost about 15 pounds during an 8 week cycle on Alphamine and it continued to curb my appetite. I still take it because I like it better than coffee or anything else for energy. It says not to take for more than 8 weeks so I do cycle off every 8 weeks. I retained 50% more lean mass than I ever have in the past when losing weight. The weight has not come back in fact I kept losing, so I’ve lost more than the 15 but 15 is what I lost during the 8 week cycle. This is pretty much my favorite supplement and I’ve tried a ton. I’m gonna try one called “Amphetalean” purely to switch things up and because I heard it’s good. I don’t really have any negative side effects to report but did notice my sex drive increased on Alphamine, I’m guessing due to the yohimbe. I wouldn’t say that’s good or bad since it depends. I already had a healthy sex drive, but if you have a low sex drive then I guess that’s a plus.
So Does Alphamine Work?
Whilst the research on many of the ingredients is still preliminary, it is promising research. Whilst we need more information, especially in the form of human studies rather than experiments on rats, it could be that this thermogenic powder does aid weight loss, primarily in those who are exercising regularly, with the aim of increasing muscle mass as well as reducing fat mass.
The customer reviews indicate that this is certainly the case, with the majority of consumers reporting decreased appetite, increased speed of weight loss, a perceptible boost in energy, and increased sweating, indicating an increased metabolism. A few mention unpleasant side effects or a lack of weight loss results. This diet supplement does not seem to be suitable for those who do not wish to undertake regular exercise in the form of both cardio and weight training.
Where Can I Buy Alphamine?
Alphamine can be purchased from a variety of online retailers. From the manufacture, a single tub costs $59.99. A single tub contains 84 servings, enough for a 28 day supply when using 3 scoops per day, the recommended maximum daily serving. Bodybuilding.com has the same sized tub available for the highly discounted price of $32.98 plus delivery.
Whilst the UK store of bodybuilding.com does not offer the product, UK customers will be glad that other sites do carry the product: bodybuilding-supplements.co.uk offer a single tub for £27.99, with free delivery, or offer two or more tubs for £25.99 each. Dolphinfitness.co.uk offer a single tub for £23.95, and offer extra discounts for bulk purchases.
As prices are constantly changing, and this is not a definitive list of suppliers, it definitely works in the customer’s favour to shop around for the best deal, rather than simply purchasing direct from the manufacturer.
What About A Guarantee
Customers purchasing direct from the manufacturer are not offered a money back guarantee, with no returns being available on open or used merchandise.
The company states:
All returns are subject to a 15% restocking fee (except for damaged goods). For the safety of our customers, bulk powders are not returnable for exchanges, credits, or refunds under any circumstance.
We recommend that, as the product is available much cheaper elsewhere, and other companies, such as bodybuilding.com, have much better returns policies, that customers shop around before purchasing this product. This may also work out better for international shoppers as well, as customers at the PEScience.com site need to pay either by credit card or PayPal in US Dollars.
Whilst Alphamine does seem to be a promising product for those who are exercising regularly who want to increase their muscle mass and lose fat, we still do not know enough about the individual ingredients to approve this product.
The lack of human clinical trials means that we cannot state just how effective or safe any of the ingredients are. The proprietary formula also makes it difficult to establish just how strong this product is, as the ingredients could be present in any quantities- making it potentially too strong and more likely to cause side effects, or not strong enough to aid weight loss significantly.
What we do know about the ingredients is that some of them can cause a wide range of side effects, and that at least two of them, caffeine and yohimbe, can interact, making them more potent than when used separately. Certainly, the long caution list provided by the company should show that this product is most definitely not suited to everyone.
Customers who do want to purchase this product should look for retailers other than the manufacturer, who sell the product at a much higher price than other stores, and offer no money back guarantee, along with charging a restocking fee on returns. Much better deals are available at other, reputable stores.
Perhaps over the next few years more relevant clinical trials will be released, making it possible to more firmly establish just how effective and safe this diet supplement really is. Until then, it is not possible to approve Alphamine.
