There are many different ways of promoting diet pills, and explaining how these diet pills work. One method is little more than click bait, offering the customer miracle weight loss, if they just read about (and purchase) their incredible and exclusive product. Biotrust utilises this marketing technique for their product Belly Trim XP.

We thought we would take a look to see if the product is as good as they claim, and our findings are below.

BellyTrim XP Pros

  • Ingredient quantities listed
  • 1 year money back guarantee

BellyTrim XP Cons

  • Product capabilities massively overstated
  • Only reviews are by affiliates who earn commissions on sales

BellyTrim XP Facts

  • Manufactured by Biotrust
  • 120 capsules per bottle-30 day supply
  • Mild fat burner

When customers go to the Belly Trim XP product page on the Biotrust website, they are greeted with the statement ‘Discover How Consuming These Two ‘Super Fats’ Can Actually Help You Burn Off Unwanted Stomach Fat — Fats That Fight Fat: Yes, It’s True!’ This is little more than click bait, promising the customer exactly what they want, even though these two ‘super fats’ are not as super as made out in the extensive sales pitch on the website.

Biotrust are the manufacturers of Belly Trim XP. We have looked at Biotrust products before, and have found that they run a seemingly ethical company, donating to numerous charities.

Customers interested in other Biotrust products should check out our reviews of Leptiburn and Biotrust IC5. The two founders of Biotrust are Joel Marion and Josh Bezoni, two nutritionists. Biotrust are very proud of their self-regulation of product quality, stating that they use natural ingredients which are tested for purity and quality, before being manufactured into the final diet pill product, adhering to GMP guidelines.

We have received requests to look into Biotrust products from our readers before, with some readers being concerned because they cannot find any independent reviews of the product range online. Some reviews are available, but they all seem to link back to the website, and greatly encourage customers to make a purchase. This may be partly because of the affiliate program that Biotrust run

BellyTrim XP Concerns:

  • Overstated claims
  • No reliable reviews

What Does BellyTrim XP Claim To Do?

The company makes a lot of claims and promises about their product, some of which are direct statements, whilst others are inferred. Suggestions of which sized package to purchase hints that a single bottle of Belly Trim XP is intended for customers who wish to lose up to 10lbs. The product is supposedly made from an ‘Advanced Waist-Slimming Fatty Acid Complex’.

The website goes into a huge amount of detail as to how the product works, and how this relates to weight loss. However, as we show below, we believe that Biotrust have overstated the role that the ingredients have to play in weight loss.

So What Is BellyTrim XP and What Are The Ingredients For BellyTrim XP?

A serving of two capsules of Belly Trim XP contains 20 calories, but also contains 1200 mg of Conjugated Linoleic Acid, 400 mg of Pomegranate Seed oil (standardised to 70% Punicic acid) and 5 mg of Bioperine. Consumers are recommended to take two servings of two capsules each per day.

  • Conjugated Linoleic Acid: Naturally found in dairy products and beef, conjugated linoleic acid may help to reduce body fat, but may not cause changes to body weight. The average daily diet provides between 15 and 174 mg of conjugated linoleic acid, but studies have used much higher levels. Human studies of CLA have produced contradictory results, and it is described as not only a relatively poor fat burner, but also an unreliable one.

  • Pomegranate Seed Oil (std. 70% Punicic Acid): One study has linked the consumption of Pomegranate seed oil to a very small reduction in triglycerides in the blood stream of adults with high levels of lipids in their blood. However, a study using solely punicic acid at a much larger dose noted no changes to triglyceride levels, and the results could not be replicated in healthy people. It is possible that any effect upon triglycerides is due to the vitamin e content of the oil, rather than punicic acid. Various studies have also noted that Pomegranate seed oil has no effect upon weight, fat mass or cholesterol levels.

  • Bioperine: This patented Black pepper extract is used for increasing the bioavailability of nutritional compounds. In other words, it increases the amounts of nutrients that are absorbed into the body in the digestive tract. It may also increase the absorption of various drugs, which may lead to potential side effects.

So What Does All This Mean?

Whilst the Belly Trim XP website states that CLA and Punicic acid are the two best fat burning fats available, the actual clinical evidence shows that both are actually quite ineffective at aiding weight loss. Bioperine is proven to improve the bioavailability of many compounds, but absorbing more of an ineffective fat burner into the consumer’s bloodstream will still not make much of a difference to weight loss. The effectiveness of Belly Trim XP’s ingredients is vastly overstated by the manufacturers.

Does BellyTrim XP Have Any Side Effects?

The official website does not mention any side effects but does allude to the product’s safety profile in the FAQ section; here the possibility of allergic reactions is discounted because the product does not contain many common allergens. The FAQ section also recommends that anyone with any medical conditions should consult their physician before taking this product.

Any BellyTrim XP Reviews From Customers?

We could not find any independent customer reviews for Belly Trim XP. Whilst there were plenty of reviews on youtube.com and on some diet pill review websites, many of them link through to their own affiliate linked website, meaning that they are being paid on commission for sending paying customers to Biotrust.

As usual, our readers are encouraged to post about their own experiences with Belly Trim XP in the comments section at the bottom of the page, as this will help other readers to make their own informed decisions about Belly Trim XP.

So Does BellyTrim XP Work?

Based upon the clinical evidence that we have read, it seems that Belly Trim XP could work to aid weight loss, but that its fat burning potential is unreliable, unpredictable and minimal. It is definitely not as potent as the sales page states.

There are no independent customer reviews available at this time, which makes it difficult to state whether consumers have actually lost weight using this diet pill or not.

Where Can I Buy BellyTrim XP?

A single bottle of Belly Trim XP costs $49 from Biotrust. However, there are offers available on bulk purchases, with three bottles costing $42 each, a total of $126, or 6 bottles costing $34 each, a total cost of $204.

Numerous delivery options are available, with standard delivery to the continental US costing $6.95, and international shipping costing varying amount based upon the destination. UK customers should put their individual country, i.e. England or Wales etc, as this offers cheaper shipping than choosing the United Kingdom option.

Each package size is recommended for different amounts of desired weight loss, inferring how much weight customers can lose by using this product. One bottle is ‘recommended for less than 10lbs to lose’, whilst 3 bottles are recommended for ’10-30lbs to lose’ and 6 bottles are recommended for those with 30lbs plus to lose.

Delivery costs $9.95 for those in the USA, but international customers need to contact the company for a quote on the delivery charges to their individual address. Remember that delivery charges are not covered by money back guarantees, and so customers should factor this into their decision to purchase the product.

The FAQ states,

We are unable to guarantee today’s pricing beyond today. Our pricing often changes due to the constantly changing prices of the high-quality, exotic ingredients used in BellyTrim XP™ as well as supply and demand. To guarantee our lowest pricing, be sure to secure your order today.

This may just be a ploy to encourage customers to order immediately on impulse, or to order a larger number of bottles to secure value for money now.

What About A Guarantee

The product comes with a one year money back guarantee, which is undoubtedly one of the best offers we have seen. Customers report that when phoning the company to acquire a refund, the customer representatives do strongly encourage you to keep using the product and to not seek out a refund, and so customers may need to be firm and persistent when trying to get their RMA code and returns address.

Watchdog Verdict

It is great that Biotrust offers a one year guarantee on its products, because we suspect that many customers may be disappointed with Belly Trim XP after reading the grossly exaggerated sales pitch on the Biotrust website. A lack of independent customer reviews worries us, because customers searching for genuine opinions of the product are likely to be guided (or misguided) by all of the glowing reviews written by affiliates of the company, who have a financial interest in promoting the product.

Whilst the company quotes some genuine research, they also ignore huge amounts of other research purely because it does not make their ingredients list look like an advanced formulation of miracle fat burning fats.

In reality, there is a lot of evidence to suggest that the fat burning capabilities of the ingredients are unpredictable, with some studies showing no results, whilst other studies suggest some effect. The groups of people studied is also incredibly important, but is neglected by Biotrust when explaining these research studies- most successful studies relevant to the product were conducted on very specific groups of people, such as the elderly, or the morbidly obese with high levels of fats in their blood.

Overall, Belly Trim XP is okay and unlikely to cause side effects, however after our research revealed such a huge gap between the claims made by the manufacturers, and the research that they conveniently ignored.

We reject BellyTrim XP.

I really appreciate this review because I constantly get emails from BioTrust for new products but I never buy them because I find a video on YouTube by a customer who religiously took their products and none of them seem to be effective (or at least not on the people trialling them). That said, it would be great if you could get someone who wants to lose 30 lbs to trial it and report your results in the same fashion. The above review is useful but it isn’t based on anyone physically taking it and giving their view.

  2. Pam Lewellen says:

Thank you for this review! I searched for reviews and found exactly what you said. For something that will cost me 50 a month or so, I want to make sure it works so now I will go search your other reviews.

  3. Pamela says:

I bought this product and was somewhat disappointed. I suffer from under active thyroid and find it really hard to lose weight as a result of two consecutive pregnancies. I did not notice any weight change however just got better at my circuit training at the gym and built some muscles. Sadly I can’t confirm if it was my hard work or Belly Trim XP.

  4. Judy says:

I caved and bought all three BioTrust weight loss products with their time-pressure sales gimmick because their product was made to sound like it was exactly what I desperately wanted. The final cost blew me away but there was no way to go back and alter my order. Very soon thereafter (the same day) I called the company to ask them to cancel the order, and was met with resistance. So I spoke with my health care practitioner who told me not to take their products because I was already on a specific protocol for health issues and my body couldn’t take more than what I was giving it already. I tried again to cancel my order with a phone call (had to leave a message) and an email, but three days later I received notice that my order had shipped. I intend to refuse the order and get my bank to dispute the charges if they are not promptly removed.

  5. Monique Coyle says:

I started your Belly Trim XP end of October, took 3 bottles and have not lost 1 pound. I understand that if I return the bottles I will get my money back. Can you email me please.

  6. kevin faulkner says:

So..it doesn’t work? Do you think I should try it if I wanna lose some weight?

    • Debbie says:

Save your money all these different miracle weight loss pills are a bunch of scams! All everybody that wants to drop pounds has to do is very low carbs no sugars and ALOT OF PROTEINS! Eat all that fattening foods that all the LOW FAT DIETERS tell you to stay away from and the pounds and inches will start dropping off just stay AWAY from the bread, rice, noodles and believe me soon after you DON’T even miss them at least I didn’t and it’s not been even a month of me watching what I consume and I am down 10pds and LOVING ALL THAT FATTY FOODS that LOW FAT PEOPLE GIVE UP!!

  7. Chris D says:

I have no financial interest in BioTRUST. I have been using their products for over 6 months. I did not find BellyTrim to do anything for.me in terms of weight loss or fat loss. I have also had no success with IC5 or LeptiBurn. I do like their OmegaKrill 5X, BCAA Matrix, and Pro X10 but none of those target weight or fat loss, but are more general supplements. I will stand up for BioTRUST in that they absolutely will and have honored the money back guarantee. I have returned several items over the last year.

  8. Rosemary says:

I have been taking BellyTrim XP for approximately 2 weeks. In that 2 weeks I have lost 4 pounds. Also, I am on a Paleo diet and I exercise everyday. So, it’s not 100% clear that my weight loss is the result of BellyTrim. However, I had been doing Paleo and exercising for almost 2 months with not much weight loss result. I have lost the most weight since I started using BellyTrim. I wanted to lose 15-20 lbs.

I still have 10 lbs to lose, but I am now suffering a negative side effect of BellyTrim – I started having stomach pains (like hunger pains) and now today this has evolved into diarrhea. If it weren’t for the side effect, I would definitely continue using the supplement because it helped me. I have no affiliation with the company, which is why I was searching for an unbiased review of the product.

  9. Niki says:

so glad I found this website…the H almost convinced me that this is THE product to use, and I almost fell for it. We’ve been on the low carb diet for almost 6 weeks, he has lost 25lbs already and I have only lost 4 thus far. Obviously I am desperate, but I am not going to waste money on something that does not work! Thanks for honest reviews…

  10. Monique Coyle says:

I have returned my bottles on Feb.5 and I have not received my credit for it. When will I receive it.

  11. James Vadella says:

My wife had a 30% tear in her Achilles tendon repaired surgically about one year ago. The inflammation and recurring pain caused her to require rest at several times throughout her active day. I ordered Rub-on Relief from Bio Trust. My wife has never experienced a product more effective at alleviating pain — and that includes the 10 mg Percocets her Doctor had prescribed. The product definitely worked. I can’t speak about weight loss supplementation – but the ointment has been Fantastic.

  12. Kelly Marrero says:

I was giving this product by someone. I have never had any experience with the company at all. I stumbled on this page, trying to find out the cost of it. I also have hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid). I began to become hopeless of ever losing weight. I started taking this product along with green tea fat burner. I also cut down on my eating, this truly supresses my hunger. I have not excercized while on this product. I lost 2 pounds my first two days of using it. Note that not all diet pills will work for everyone. I finally found something that works for me and I couldn’t be any happier.
