So What Is MaxTrimm FibreTRIMM and What Are The Ingredients?
On the official website there is no full ingredients list, with the product description merely stating that ‘he fibre is derived from psyllium husks and seeds, flaxseed, prune juice, fig fruit and other high-fibre foods and herbs.’ Individual product quantities are not listed. No usage instructions are provided on the website, although they are presumably provided on the bottle.
We did contact the manufacturer through facebook, posing as a potential customer, and we were given the following ingredients list.
- Psyllium Husk Powder (Plantago husk) (525mg 61.40%): Used to treat constipation.
- Flax Seed Powder (105mg 12.28%): The seed from Flax is high in soluble fibre and omega-3 fatty acids. It can cause a slight laxative effect when used daily, as well as reducing LDL cholesterol levels in the blood.
- Fennel Seed Powder(20mg 2.34%): Fennel may work as a laxative by relaxing the colon.
- Fenugreek Powder (Trigonella foenum-grecum) (50mg 5.85%): Often used as an herbal remedy, fenugreek seeds are sometimes used to treat a loss of appetite. However, it also seems to slow the absorption of sugars in the stomach, helping to regulate blood sugar levels. This may delay sugar crashes that are usually associated with slumping energy levels and snacking between meals.
- Apple Pectin (20mg 2.34%): A soluble fibre that can help to reduce cholesterol levels as well as promoting a good balance of good and bad bacteria in the gut.
- Carrot Powder (5mg 0.58%): Anti-inflammatory, as well as containing various vitamins.
- Fig Fruit ext (4:1 5mg 0.58%) and Prune Juice Fruit Ext (5:1)(Prunus Domestica) (10mg 1.17%): Helps to treat constipation.
- “OO” CAPSULES VEG (110mg 12.87%)
So What Does All This Mean?
The ingredients used in FibreTrimm are natural ingredients which have laxative properties. There is a mix of soluble and insoluble fibres, which help to promote healthy digestion and regular bowel movements. Consumers who already have a high fibre diet are unlikely to feel any benefits from this supplement.
Whilst it is possible that some people could lose weight whilst using this supplement, it is likely due to an increase in bowel movements and a loss of water weight. Fat mass will not be affected by the consumption of FibreTrimm.
Does MaxTrimm FibreTRIMM Have Any Side Effects?
Whilst the official website does not mention any possibility of developing side effects whilst using FibreTrimm, some of the individual ingredients can cause side effects.
For people who already have healthy bowel movements, using laxatives such as psyllium husk can lead to diarrhoea. In general, people who use a colon cleanse style product will experience changes to their bowel movements. Dehydration may occur, as the body is expelling more water through moving more water into stools, due to the laxative ingredients. Headaches and constipation are two side effects that may occur due to dehydration. Some people may experience diarrhoea, depending upon their own diet as well as the strength of the product they are using. Side effects can be minimised by drinking plenty of water throughout the day.
Over-reliance upon laxatives can also cause dependency, as the muscles in the colon become weaker. Consumers may want to start with a smaller dose of the supplement, and increasing the dose as necessary up to the recommended four capsules per day. This would minimise the chances of side effects, and help the consumer to establish what the best dose is for them. In general, however, we would not recommend the use of laxatives style products daily, even if they are from natural sources.
Avoid if you are pregnant or breast-feeding.
Not suitable for those under the age of 18.
If in doubt about this product or any other supplement, consult your doctor before use.
Ensure plenty of water is consumed whilst using this product, and avoid the use of other diuretics and laxatives, including caffeine.
Any MaxTrimm FibreTRIMM Reviews From Customers?
There do not seem to be any customer reviews for FibreTrimm. Considering that the company MaxTrimm was only established in July 2014, this lack of reviews is understandable. When we contacted the company asking about the product, Rosie, the representative who replied to our message, did provide her own testimonial of the product.
FibreTRIMM is a great product, I myself take 4 capsules every day straight after breakfast with a big glass of water. I find the next morning, I am regular when it comes to using the bathroom, and I lose any bloating which may have developed during the night.
This may of course have been to encourage us to make a purchase, but given that Rosie is also used as the model for MaxTrimm, showing before and after pictures, we are inclined to believe her statement.
So Does MaxTrimm FibreTRIMM Work?
We believe that FibreTrimm from MaxTrimm does work as a fibre based supplement designed to promote healthy bowel movements and to treat constipation. Its use may also lead to small amounts of weight loss, although this would be from the removal of waste from the bowels, rather than any permanent weight loss that affects fat mass.
Fibretrimm is not a supplement designed to significantly boost weight loss, and should not be used as such. If bought as a weight loss aid it would likely leave customers disappointed with the results.
Where Can I Buy MaxTrimm FibreTRIMM?
MaxTrimm FibreTrimm can be purchased from maxtrimm.com, at a cost of AUS$26.40 per bottle of 120 capsules. Each bottle is expected to last for one month.
Shipping is a standardised price, regardless of destination, international or otherwise. Standard post costs AUS$8.76, whilst delivery that requires a signature at the door upon delivery costs AUS$18.41.
The website provides estimates of how long international delivery will take, based upon the area in which the destination country falls into. Despite the company being registered in Australia, and the product being priced in Australian dollars, it appears that the product is posted from the UK, with shipping to UK addresses taking 1-2 working days, deliveries to Europe taking approximately 5 working days, and shipping to Oceana, the USA and the rest of the world taking approximately 7 working days.
It is worth remembering that customs charges and delivery delays at customs may apply.
Although the exchange rate does vary, at the time of writing, AUS$26.40 roughly equated to £14, or US$23.
What About A Guarantee
There is no money back guarantee for this product. The company does not accept refunds, although this is not specified on the website until the checkout page. The company states:
Once an order is placed it cannot be edited or cancelled. For your protection we do not allow returns for any reason. Because the chain of custody was broken, we do not resell returned items. All sales are final. We do not provide refunds. We do not guarantee individual results. We urge you NOT to order more than one of a product until you have tried it and are sure it agrees with you. If we make an error, it will be quickly corrected at our expense.
Overall, this is not a product that we can recommend as a diet pill, purely because it will not aid weight loss, boost the metabolism, suppress the appetite or burn fat. It will, however, help to prevent constipation and will regulate bowel movements. Side effects are possible, but their occurrence depends as much on the consumer’s diet as it does upon the ingredients in this supplement. Drinking plenty of water, and slowly increasing the dosage as required by the individual should prevent most side effects from occurring.
The lack of a returns policy means that this product should only be purchased by consumers who are absolutely certain that they want the product. We find it refreshing that the company does discourage bulk purchases before the product has been tried, and so even though their returns policy is less than ideal, we appreciate their clarity on the matter.
Whilst we would not recommend laxatives for daily use, this is one of the better digestive aid supplements we have seen, and we would suggest this product over harsher colon cleansing products.
However, FibreTrimm is not a diet pill, and we disagree with the company when they state that this can aid healthy weight loss. Because of this, and the lack of customer reviews and returns policy, we cannot recommend this product.
We reject MaxTrimm FibreTRIMM.
