We see if there is any truth behind these claims, or whether this Forskolin supplement, and others, are just another weight loss fad.

NutraBio Forskolin 250 Review
Forskolin 250 Facts
- Manufactured by NutraBio
- 60 capsules per bottle
- Ingredient recommended by Dr. Oz
The company that manufactures NutraBio Forskolin is NutraBio, who have been in business since 1996.
All of their products are made in the United States and “meet or exceed FDA 21 CFR Part 111 CGMP Regulations”. Products are dated with a manufacture date, allowing the customer to establish how fresh their product is. This is because supplements and extracts may degrade over time.
There is a full set of contact information, so that customers can contact trained and “knowledgeable” company representatives with queries about the products, their orders or delivery updates.
The company is open Monday to Friday, 9-5.30 EST, and phone lines are manned only during these hours. The customer hotline number is 1-888-688-7224. The email is email@example.com, and customers can also write to the company at the following address:
Customer Care Center
564 Lincoln Boulevard
Middlesex, NJ 08846 US
The website also details the days that they are closed for public holidays, in which the customer care centre is unavailable. Orders placed on these days, on weekends, and after 3pm on a Friday may have a delayed shipment. Orders received before 3pm on any working day will be processed and shipped the same working day, if the product is in stock.
Despite being registered with the Better Business Bureau, and receiving a maximum rating of A+, we were able to find several complaints about NutraBio on other complaints websites, mainly on Trust Pilot.
Customers who have complained about the company mainly focus upon slow delivery and dispatch times, products not arriving, rude customer service agents, ignored emails, and having to pay for various shipping charges when trying to replace a faulty product with a replacement.
NutraBio Forskolin 250 Concerns:

So What Is NutraBio Forskolin 250 and What Are The Ingredients For Forskolin 250?
The sole ingredient in this diet pill is Forskolin, which is a herbal extract from Coleus forskohlii, a plant belonging to the mint family. Each capsule contains 250 mg, and the recommended dose is one capsule to be taken twice daily with meals.
Coleus Forskohlii has been used in traditional Indian medicine to treat a range of ailments, such as asthma, high blood pressure and chest pains.
Dr Oz has claimed that Forskolin works to boost the metabolism, aiding weight loss, specifically by causing increased calories and fat to be burnt.
There is one clinical trial that has investigated the link between Forskolin and weight loss. It was a double blind, randomised trial that compared the results with the use of a placebo, but it also only used 19 female participants, 7 of which were taking forskolin over the course of 12 weeks.
No significant differences were observed in caloric or macronutrient intake. Users of Forskolin “tended to mitigate gains in body mass and scanned mass” with no significant differences in fat mass, fat free mass or body fat. Subjects in the Forskolin consuming group tended to report less fatigue and hunger.
No clinically significant interactions were seen in metabolic markers, blood lipids, muscle and liver enzymes, electrolytes, red cells, white cells, insulin levels, heart rate, blood pressure, or weekly reports of side effects.
Essentially, the study showed that the participants did not lose any weight, but at least they did not gain weight. They reported feeling less hunger, but there was not real or significant appetite suppression, as the calorific value of their consumed meals remained largely the same.
The study does mention two other smaller studies that did show a possible connection between Forskolin and fat loss, but at best the evidence is limited and studies show widely varying results.
So What Does All This Mean?
The study showed that Forskolin is not a metabolism boosting ingredient, and that its use led to no weight loss in any regard at all. People should probably stick with using Forskolin to treat asthma, as there are some clinical trials that support this use.
Does NutraBio Forskolin 250 Have Any Side Effects?
As Forskolin can be taken in a number of different ways depending upon what ailment is being treated, there are a variety of possible side effects. Obviously many will not affect supplement users; for example, the possible side effects from inhaling forskolin as a treatment of asthma include throat irritation, cough, tremor, and restlessness.
Possible side effects include headaches, a decrease in blood pressure, dizziness, blurred vision, nausea, fatigue, lack of concentration, increased heart rate, heart palpitations, heart burn, indigestion, stomach cramps.
Forskolin may also interact with prescribed medications, especially blood thinners and blood pressure medications.
In 2005, several cases of acute poisoning were reported in Italy, apparently caused by accidental contamination of Coleus forskohlii products with similar-appearing plants in the deadly nightshade family.
Avoid if you are pregnant or breast-feeding.
Safety in young children, pregnant or nursing women, or those with severe liver or kidney disease has not been established.
Any NutraBio Forskolin 250 Reviews From Customers?
There are no customer reviews of NutraBio Forskolin available. The best we could find was a selection of 13 ratings out of 5 stars on another website. Here the product had an average score of 4 out of 5 stars.
On WebMD people can leave reviews of individual supplements, although this is not tried directly to any brand or make. With regards to Forskolin products being used for weight loss, one customer wrote that Dr Oz had recommended it for weight loss, and that she now had developed diarrhoea. Another wrote:
After completing a 60-count bottle with 10% forskolin, absolutely no weight has come off. I eat healthy, watch sugars and carbs, 5-9 servings of low sugar fruit and veggies a day. Am not at goal weight. Could afford to lose 25 pounds. Walk 2 miles daily if not more so I do not understand if the product I had is ineffective and should be the 20% forskolin.
There are some reviews of NutraBio as a company; these are mixed, with some customers being incredibly happy with the delivery times, customer service and products.
However, other customers have reported rude customer service agents, with some people reporting that they were hung up on by the customer sales rep, after they refused to help in the way these customers expected.
Others have been ignored via email, had ordered products never being delivered despite emails to confirm delivery, or never being shipped at all. One customer received a faulty product that had been tampered with:
They sent me whey protein that had been tampered with and did not contain the scoop. I requested an FED EX replacement. They balked and stated I would have to repackage the tainted and incomplete protein and send back. Can you believe it! I requested a replacement with no hassles of returning anything. They refused. Customer service rep and supervisor were condescending and rude. Stay away! They only care about their money.
Whilst there are some companies that will cover the shipping cost or offer free shipping on faulty or incorrect products, it does not seem that NutraBio is one of these companies.
So Does NutraBio Forskolin 250 Work?
The conflicting studies and disappointed comments from users of forskolin in general suggest that the product does not in general lead to increased weight loss. Even the studies that are promising with regard to increased lean mass and decreased fat mass did not actually see any total weight loss in the participants. We have been unable to find reviews from customers who managed to lose weight by using Forskolin supplements.
Where Can I Buy NutraBio Forskolin 250?
For those who still want to buy NutraBio Forskolin 250 mg, it is available from the NutraBio website. One bottle of 60 capsules, enough for 30 days use if following the pack directions, costs $15.99.
There may be additional discounts available should the customer want to join NutraBio’s auto-shipping program. However, in general we discourage the use of auto-shipping programs, as they have numerous problems, especially as many of them are difficult to cancel.
Shipping charges are a minimum of $6 for those in the US, depending upon the speed of delivery and method. International shipping is also available
What About A Guarantee
NutraBio does have a 100% satisfaction guarantee, although there are a number of restrictions upon this. For refunds, customers need to acquire an RMA number before returning the package, and the package needs to be received back to the warehouse within 30 days of receipt of the product. The item must be returned at the customers expense, and must be unopened and undamaged for a credit (less shipping & handling) to be issued.
There is also a ‘try it first guarantee’. NutraBio explain this as:
We want you to be 100% satisfied without taking any risk so we offer a full 30-day satisfaction guarantee on open items that meet the following criteria: The item must be the smallest size or quantity item that is available for that particular product and the item must be received back to us within 30 days of receipt of the product. This gives you the opportunity to try the product, risk free for a few weeks.
Whilst the company does have a satisfaction guarantee, it is not as solid or favourable to the customer as some other companies we have seen. Customers have complained about receiving faulty products and being asked to pay for return shipping before they could receive a replacement. The return must also reach the warehouse within 30 days, but the website describes this 30 days starting from the purchase date in one section, and from the date that the product was delivered in another section.
Overall, no matter how high the quality of the Forskolin present in this product, it is not possible to approve this ‘diet pill’ as a viable weight loss option.
The sole ingredient does not seem to cause any weight loss, and studies have shown that it does not have a noticeable effect upon the metabolism, or any indicators in increased fat oxidation. Even when it was found to decrease fat mass in the body, overall weight did not change.
With the only ingredient in this product not aiding weight loss in any way, it is not possible to call this a diet pill, let alone approve it as an effective one. Unfortunately, Dr. Oz has again had the ‘Oz effect’ upon another ineffective supplement ingredient, allowing companies to boost their sales despite the lack of results seen from the product.
We reject NutraBio Forskolin 250 diet pills.
