Slim Science Appetite Suppressant Review
Slim Science Appetite Suppressant Facts
- Contains branded formulas SuperCitrimax and Satiereal in the formula
- Each bottle contains 90 capsules – 1 month’s supply
- Sold via GNC, Amazon, Lucky Vitamin and direct from the Slim Science website
Slim Science Appetite Suppressant is a US made diet pill on sale from the major supplements company GNC as well as from Amazon, Lucky Vitamin and the Slim Science website.
The supplement contains two branded products; Super Citrimax, a Garcinia Cambogia supplement and Satiereal – a crocus flower (saffron) extract. Both these formulas are believed to have an appetite suppressing effect with one study suggesting that Satiereal may also act on serotonin – the chemical in the brain that plays a rule in mood and appetite.
More unusually, Slim Science also contains Mucuna Pruriens Extract –made from a tropical legume also known as Velvet Bean, which grows in tropical and sub tropical climates, and Gymnema Sylvestre Extract a native Indian Shrub. There is some evidence that substances found in Gymnema may decrease sugar absorption and raise insulin levels but it requires further evidence and amounts seem low.
However, at 1500mg per capsule Super Citrimax is the principle ingredient. This is a branded form of Garcinia Cambogia.
This ingredient was featured on the Dr Oz TV show where it was described as “weight loss in a bottle” that could help you lose weight with minimum effort. Dr Oz has made Garcinia Supplements very popular but the weight loss claims have been overhyped.
Garcinia Cambogia is supposed to support weight management by blocking fat storage and reducing the appetite thanks to the active ingredient Hydroxycitric Acid.
Dr Oz has been severely criticized by the medical authorities for making unfounded claims about unproven ingredients and Garcinia Cambogia was one of the main culprits.
See our article on Dr Oz.
Super Citrimax contains Garcinia Cambogia plus some added vitamins and minerals. It is made by American company Interhealth Nutraceuticals who have carried out several research studies into this branded formula.
Super Citrimax is not available to buy over the counter. Inter Health supply the supplements industry and this branded formula is found in numerous supplements including Diet Works Garcinia Cambogia and RegeneSlim, which we have covered, and rejected in previous reviews.

What Does Slim Science Appetite Suppressant Claim To Do?
According to the advertising;
Slim Science is a new and unique appetite suppressant developed by nutritionists to help you control your appetite safely and sensibly.
It will help you;
Kick your appetite to the curb today!
Slim Science Appetite Suppressant is formulated from six key ingredients that will help promote a healthy weight, aid in caloric reduction, and support appetite control.
two patented clinically studied ingredients, Super CitriMax® and Satiereal®, Slim Science Appetite Suppressant is the next evolution in appetite management.
So What Is Slim Science Appetite Suppressant and What Are The Ingredients?
Slim Science Appetite Suppressant is a diet pill that is supposed to reduce your appetite and help support healthy weight loss. Although you are only advised to take 1 capsule three times a day, the serving size is actually 3 capsules.
Ingredient quantities here relate to three capsules.
- Super CitriMax® (1500mg): Branded Garcinia Cambogia Supplement. There has been very little independent research carried out on the principle ingredient Garcinia Cambogia /Hydroxycitric acid. This means that, results are not conclusive and there are scientific concerns about the methods used in some of the clinical tests.
The Journal of Obesity has concluded that Garcinia extracts/HCA can cause short-term weight loss. However, the effect is small and the clinical relevance is uncertain. They advised,
Future trials should be more rigorous and better reported.
Super Citrimax has undergone 10 clinical tests carried out by the makers Inter Health and results have been positive for weight loss. However, these tests are not independent and many of them via animal experimentation. Although the formula has shown to have potentially positive effects, this may not cross over to humans
- Calcium (120mg): This is part of the super Citrimax formula and in combination with potassium may play a role in the efficacy of Hydroxycitric Acid.
One Inter Health test concluded,
Studies show that when calcium and potassium are bound to HCA, solubility, bioavailability and effectiveness are significantly enhanced.
Calcium is the body’s most abundant mineral and essential for healthy bones, teeth and cardio health. The RDA is around 1000mg for adults, most of which is obtainable by diet. For example, there is approximately 307mg in 1.5 oz of cheese alone.
- Potassium (180mg): Also part of the Super Citrimax formula, this crucial mineral is found in many foodstuffs including bananas and potatoes. Many people suffer from low potassium due to an unhealthy diet, which can lead to heart disease, high blood pressure and other conditions. The RDA should be around 4,700mg a day.
- Vitamin D (200IU): Crucial vitamin obtainable by sunlight. Also present in foods such as oily fish and eggs. An adult needs 600 IU of vitamin D daily. Vitamin D is important for the body as it helps calcium absorption.
- Satiereal® (176.5mg): Branded saffron supplement believed to help reduce snacking. One clinical test indicated that Satiereal consumption hypothetically could produce a reduction of snacking and create a satiating effect that could contribute to body weight loss. Amount here consistent with the clinical test.
- L-Tyrosine (37.5mg): This amino acid is believed to stimulate brain chemicals serotonin and dopamine and is sometimes taken to treat depression. May have a mild stimulant effect.
- Mucuna Pruriens Extract (25mg): Tropical plant sometimes called Velvet Bean which is sometimes smoked for a high. This herb contains L Dopa, which is a precursor to the neurotransmitter dopamine an important brain chemical involved with mood. May make you feel like snacking. –No information regarding amount quantities .
- Gymnema Sylvestre Extract (25mg): Natural Australian herb that is unique in reducing the taste of sugar when the leaves are chewed.
Research into this herb is ongoing. The preliminary results have been positive but it requires further testing for supplement use.
So What Does All This Mean?
Slim Science Appetite Suppressant looks safe but we can’t see why it should work for appetite suppression in the way that the advertising describes. Why? The lack of evidence about the principle ingredient.
Garcinia Cambogia may have a short-term effect on weight loss but how it actually works is unknown. The clinical testing has not come up with any real conclusions and if it does have any effect upon appetite, it is likely to be very mild. Possibly unnoticeable. This ingredient has been totally over hyped and there is just no evidence it will do anything much.
Satiereal is supposed to help you reduce hunger pangs and help you avoid snacking too but the clinical test was not very conclusive.
Gymnema looks promising but is present here in minimal amounts. No evidence that Velvet Bean will have an effect upon weight loss either. It can have a mood altering effect if taken in the right quantities (this information is not known) but it might make you feel like snacking.
There are just too many “ifs, buts and maybes” about the ingredients of this supplement.
Does Slim Science Appetite Suppressant Have Any Side Effects?
This supplement looks safe enough and shouldn’t cause too many major side effects for most people. That said, it is important to remember that the long-term effects of many of these ingredients have never been tested.
Potential side effects may include
- Stomach discomfort
- May increase appetite
Avoid if you are pregnant or breast feeding. Speak to your doctor first if you have a medical condition or if you are taking medication in case of interactions.
Any Slim Science Appetite Suppressant Reviews From Customers?
There are some customer reviews on Amazon.com. Feedback is mainly negative.
Customer comments include:
This product disappointed me. I was so excited to try this but it definitely didn’t do what it says. There was no appetite decrease and no boost of energy. Definitely not worth the money I spent on it. Didn’t lose 1 pound using this!
Another customer reported;
Doesn’t work at all, complete waste of money. No side effects but also no… Effects. Followed instructions, there was no difference in appetite at all.
One customer was angry at the sales policy. It is unclear as to whether this reviewer purchased this supplement via Amazon or direct from the Slim Science website.
SCAM!!!!! SCAM!!! SCAM!! I thought I was ordering ONE bottle…bottles and charges keep coming. Cancelled today, but still out a STUPID AMOUNT OF MONEY!
One customer was happy though, writing:
It works if you follow direction by taking it three times a day. It suppresses my appetite and you have to drink a lot water it is good.
So Does Slim Science Appetite Suppressant Work?
Most people have not been satisfied. The major problem is that the principle ingredient Garcinia Cambogia does not really work for weight loss in any way that makes it worth taking.
A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis of Randomised Clinical Trials has highlighted issues with the clinical testing – most of which have been carried out by companies wishing to promote Garcinia Cambogia and the results have not been conclusive.
According to this report;
All of the studies had one or more methodological weaknesses
This reported concluded by saying;
The evidence from RCTs (random controlled trials) suggests that Garcinia extracts/HCA generate weight loss on the short term. However, the magnitude of this effect is small, is no longer statistically significant when only rigorous RCTs are considered, and its clinical relevance seems questionable. Future trials should be more rigorous, longer in duration, and better reported

What About A Guarantee
Slim Science Appetite Suppressant does not come with a guarantee.
Slim Science Appetite Suppressant does not look dangerous but that is probably the best thing we can say about it.
This supplement is unlikely to work in the way as described because the active ingredients lack any evidence that they work. In addition, if you buy direct from Slim Science you may get caught up in auto billing without realising. We know this applies to the free trial offer but it is not clear whether this also applies to usual purchases.
We would not take the risk. Overall, this supplement is probably not worth buying once, let alone taking it on a regular basis.
Slim Science Appetite Suppressant is simply not good enough to add to our approved list so it is an easy decision.
We have no other choice but to reject it.
