TrimThin SR Review
TrimThin SR Facts
- Trimthin SR is marketed by Intechra Health
- Intechra Health produced a number of OTC supplements
- 60 tablets a bottle – one month’s supply
Powerful weight loss results! Immediate appetite suppression! Trimthin SR is a new diet pill from US supplements company Intechra Health. This company specialise in diet pills that mimic Phentermine so you know you can expect strong ingredients, potential side effects and some hard-hitting advertising.
Trimthin SR is a diet pill that offers powerful weight loss results and comes with advertising that compares this OTC supplement with Phentermine.
Trimthin SR is not as obvious as some Phentermine clone diet pills we have seen, but according to the product description, Trimthin SR can achieve similar weight loss to Phentermine but is safe and legal.
This seems to make it ever more desirable to some customers despite the fact that Phentermine can cause numerous side effects and comes with a risk of addiction.
Many diet pill companies have been quick to make claims about their own “over the counter” supplements being legal alternatives to Phentermine.
This does not make Phentermine inspired pills necessarily bad just that it is a popular style of advertising in the diet pills industry.
According to the information, there are four key benefits to Trimthin SR:
- Immediate and Lasting Appetite Suppression
- Improved Metabolism for Optimum Fat Burning
- Energy Enhancement for a More Active Lifestyle
- Elevated Mood, Attention and Concentration
Intechra Health are a US company who specialise in Phentermine alternatives. As well as Trimthin SR, they market PhenBlue billed as a “body sculpting formula with noticeable results after 72 hours”, and FenFast375 – again playing on the name and the markings on genuine Phentermine tablets.
We covered and rejected Phen Blue in a previous Watchdog investigation.
Trimthin SR contains a range of ingredients including -Phenylethylamine HCl, 1, 3,7-trimethylxanthine (AKA caffeine) and Hordenine so this supplement will not suit you if you are looking for stimulant free or natural weight loss.
Stimulants can promote your flight and fight response and raise adrenaline levels making you feel too keyed up to eat. They can boost to your energy levels enabling you to get more active, and raise the speed of the metabolism so to burn off weight at faster than your normal rate.
These key features are claimed by the Trimthin SR advertising as positive benefits to weight loss.
However, stimulants should come with a health warning because they will not suit everyone. Trimthin SR contains ingredients that may raise heart rate and blood pressure and other associated side effects.
How to take TrinThin SR
Swallow one tablet first thing in the morning with at least 8oz of water.
Repeat this process 5 hours later. Take the pills no less than 30 minutes before eating a meal and take no more than 2 pills within 24 hours.
It is important to swallow the pills whole to enable the sustained release to take effect.
To get the best results with Trimthin combine the pills with regular exercise and a calorie reduced diet programme.
One of the key features of Trimthin SR is the sustained release tablet.
The advertising is quick to point out the similarities between Trimthin SR and a Phentermine brand Ionamin because both pills use this sustained release technology. The aim is that medication or ingredients are delivered slowly to your body over hours rather than being absorbed by your body within the first 30 minutes of taking.
We like the sound of this technology and would have liked to have seen details about how it actually worked but unfortunately the company were vague on this point.
TrimThin SR Concerns:
- Taking stimulants to lose weight is not healthy
- Potentially dangerous ingredients may cause side effects and interactions
- Lack of ingredients information. How strong actually is this diet pill?
What Does TrimThin SR Claim To Do?
Trimthin comes with some references to clinical investigations. This looks good but at the end of the day we all know that most of us will not bother following this up and actually read it.
However according to the advertising, there are four key benefits that will help you lose weight:
- LOSE 3-5 POUNDS EVERY WEEK!
- LONG-LASTING APPETITE SUPPRESSION
- INCREASED ENDURANCE & ENERGY
- 5-HOUR SUSTAINED-RELEASE FORMULA
The information states that:
The powerful ingredients in the Trimthin formulation are released slowly into the body to ensure that the effects are steadily maintained. The result is that the best possible fat burning, appetite suppression and energy levels can be carried on throughout the entire day, making it even easier than ever before to be able to lose weight. For many dieters, these unique benefits of Trimthin SR make it the perfect diet pill alternative to prescription weight loss drugs.
The Trimthin SR advertising goes on about this point at great length but we get the idea. Trimthin SR is released slowly into the body so you get a long lasting effect.
So What Is TrimThin SR and What Are The Ingredients For TrimThin SR?
Trimthin SR is a stimulant based diet pill. There is some information about the ingredients but quantities are not provided and Intechra Health seems very cagey about this point.
There is no comprehensive ingredients list. This means you really do not know what you are taking. The principle ingredient is probably caffeine but how much is not made clear.
Intechra provide some links to clinical tests to back up their claims about the ingredients but this is hard to take seriously when they don’t actually tell you how much of each ingredient is contained in each capsule.
- 1, 3,7-trimethylxanthine (caffeine): This is the same as the caffeine you drink and judging by the name of this supplement, the principle ingredient.
Some clinical research has found that caffeine may help weight management by thermogenesis and fat oxidation. The downside is that if you already are a high caffeine consumer you may not notice much difference.
The clinical study referenced in the advertising was not conclusive. 136 people (some of them obese) were tested over a 3-month period. Some people lost weight and others did not. The test concluded that there were;
considerable individual variations within the group with regard to the BMR and thermogenic response to caffeine.
- Beta -Phenylethylamine Hcl, (also known as PEA): Believed to stimulate brain chemicals serotonin and dopamine. It can cause a short-lived high effect but is quickly metabolized. It is this high that makes it attractive as a supplement but the effect often lasts only a few minutes. We cannot say whether the slow release of the tablets will keep you feeling high all day but we doubt it.
The clinical reference provided, showed positive results but did not relate to this ingredient. Instead, this small test on 10 people examined the effects of Meltdown – a different weight loss supplement with different ingredients. Tricksy! Source: http://link.springer.com/article/10.1186%2F1550-2783-6-1
- Hordenine Hcl (100mg): Hordenine Hcl is a naturally derived chemical found in plants including barley and is an alkaloid in the Phenylethylamine class. It is a stimulant and a common ingredient for weight loss supplements because it is believed to affect the central nervous system and increase the metabolism. It does this by boosting your adrenaline levels to promote the fight or flight response. This can suppress your appetite by making you feel too keyed up to eat.
Largely untested on humans despite some promising initial results this ingredient is known for increasing heart rate and blood pressure. The so called clinical proof was not available to see.
- Forskolin, Coleus Forskohlii (root): Plant chemical that may be effective for treating a variety conditions but it requires further clinical investigation into efficacy and safety. There does not appear to be any reason to take this for weight loss. Forskolin may help reduce blood pressure and strengthen heart muscles but can interfere with blood clotting and interact with medicines. Again this clinical report was not available for the customer to look at so we provided our own research. Source: Web MD Forskolin
- Vinpocetine: Synthetic chemical that is sometimes used to treat Alzheimer’s disease because it is believed to improve the blood flow to the brain. Can interact with medicines that affect blood clotting such as Warfarin.

So What Does All This Mean?
The ingredients of Trimthin SR will likely have a stimulant effect and in addition, some of the ingredients could be potentially dangerous if you are taking medication.
The so called provided clinical evidence looks good for show but is either not relevant, inconclusive or not available to see which seems very tricksy.
How strong an effect will depend largely on your own physical make up – we are all different – and the amount of active ingredients contained in the tablets. Unfortunately, Intechra Health does not provide this information and do not even provide a picture of the label. Judging by this reluctance, it seems likely that the principle ingredient is caffeine.
We are not impressed with any of this.
Does TrimThin SR Have Any Side Effects?
We were unable to find any independent reviews for Trimthin SR so we cannot bring you any true-life experiences. However, we have examined clinical information for the individual ingredients and have some very real concerns.
Side effects may include:
- Increased heart rate
- Elevated blood pressure
- Stomach pain
- Sleep disturbances
- Reduced blood clotting
Caution: Avoid if pregnant or breast-feeding. Do not take if you suffer from any heart or blood pressure related medical condition. Do not take if you are on prescription drugs because there can be serious interactions with some medication including Warfarin. Forskolin may interact with heart medication.
Intechra Health does not mention any possible side effects or drug interactions which is a serious omission.
Any TrimThin SR Reviews From Customers?
We could not find one independent review for this supplement. There are numerous reviews on the website. Unsurprisingly these are all positive and say things along the lines of;
Really liked using Trimthin. I Did not experience any side effect and was able to lose 34 pounds in 3 months.
According to the website testimonials, EVERYONE loses vast amounts of weight. We do not believe it.
So Does TrimThin SR Work?
Unlikely. We don’t think it will work very well and it may cause side effects.
Where Can I Buy TrimThin SR?
You can buy Trimthin SR direct from the product website.
One month’s supply of 1 bottle containing 60 tablets costs $64.00. Two month’s supply (2 bottles) costs $119.00.
Worryingly you are encouraged to stay on Trimthin SR for six months for the best weight loss effects. There is a graph on the sales page to prove this point!
You can also find Trimthin SR on sale via Amazon.com.
1 bottle of 60 tablets costs $58.00 and includes free shipping to US addresses.
Trimthin SR is not on sale direct to customers outside the USA so your best bet is probably to contact Intechra Health direct to find out about shipping if you want to try it.
What About A Guarantee
There is no money-back guarantee on offer.
We are not very impressed with Trimthin SR. Although stimulants can help you lose weight short term by making you feel too keyed up to eat and by boosting your energy levels, weight loss is rarely long lasting because your body soon becomes accustomed to these effects. In addition, this is not good for your long-term health and can lead to problems around heart and blood pressure.
Trimthin SR are extremely evasive about the exact ingredients contained in the tablets and although they have made an effort to provide links to clinical proof about the ingredients, it turns out that some of these are not even relevant to this product. We feel they are just there for show.
The slow release tablet may be effective but how can we tell what it will do when we do not know the strength of the ingredients?
There is no independent customer feedback and this supplement comes with no guarantee. $64 for a diet pill that may contain mainly caffeine is not good value and there are much better diet pills on the market.
In conclusion, we would not take Trimthin SR ourselves and we certainly would not recommend it to anyone else.
