USPlabs Compound 20 Review

USPlabs Compound 20 Facts

  • Manufactured by USPLabs
  • 132 capsules per bottle
  • Reformulated in recent years- old formula may still be available

Compound 20 is a supplement manufactured by USPlabs, a supplement manufacturer based in Texas, USA. The company does not sell the products it manufactures on its own website, but rather selling them through third party retailers. Whilst a range of the company’s products are available at GNC, including EpiBurn Pro, compound 20 is sold via bodybuilding.com. It is also available in its older formulation from Amazon.

The official website provides surprisingly little information about compound 20, listing only the directions for use and a long list of warnings and restrictions for users. The website lists no ingredients, and fails to even describe how the product works.

How to Take USPlabs Compound 20

Take 2 capsules with breakfast and 2 capsules 6-8 hours later with meal or snack.

For best results, take one of the servings 30-60 minutes prior to workout.

Customers who want to contact USPlabs about this product or with any other queries should use the contact details provided on the USPlabs official website. The customer service link on the website is not currently functional, although the contact us page provides all the required contact information.

USPlabs Compound 20 Concerns:

  • No money back guarantee from manufacturer
  • Two formulas available- no explanation of difference
  • Very little information available about ingredients

What Does USPlabs Compound 20 Claim To Do?

According to the manufacturer, Compound 20 is a ‘great product to support’…

  • Bodybuilding
  • Endurance Training
  • Strength training
  • Power lifting
  • Strong man training
  • Crossfit

It is suitable for both male and female athletes. However, the company do not actually state what Compound 20 is supposed to do or how it works. Bodybuilding.com describes Compound 20 as a ‘selective Beta-2 Andrenoceptor Agonist’ that provides ‘revolutionary leaning & hardening support’.

So What Is USPlabs Compound 20 and What Are The Ingredients?

Despite the lack of information provided by the manufacturer themselves about the ingredients used in this diet pill, other retailers have provided more information about Compound 20. What is confusing is that there are seemingly two different formulations being sold. Our research does suggest that the larger bottle, containing 132 capsules, is the most recent formulation of the product, although both are still available at various online retailers.

According to Amazon, the following ingredients information is correct for bottles containing 120 capsules. Per two capsule serving, there is 1520 mg of the proprietary formula, which consists of a blend of Symplocos Racemosa Extract (bark) standardised for Triterpenoids, N-Coumaroyldopamine and N-Caffeoyldopamine.

  • Symplocos Racemosa Extract (bark) (standardised for Triterpenoids): Ayurvedic textbooks suggest that the bark from this tree aids in reducing weight, although the effectiveness and mechanisms it works by appear to be highly under-researched.

  • N-Coumaroyldopamine and N-Caffeoyldopamine: These ingredients have been studied together, and were found to increase cAMP production in cells, which is thought to increase metabolic function in the body.

However, bodybuilding.com, a more tightly regulated website when it comes to weight loss supplements, is selling a 132 capsule sized bottle of Compound 20. Their bottle image matches the official website, suggesting that this is the most recent and widely available form of the product. This formulation reportedly contains a proprietary formula providing a total of 1510 mg (per two capsule serving) of the following ingredients:

  • Symplocos Racemosa Extract (bark): Ayurvedic textbooks suggest that the bark from this tree aids in reducing weight, although the effectiveness and mechanisms it works by appear to be highly under-researched.
    Source:http://dx.doi.org/10.4236/ajps.2012.327119
  • Tinospora Cordifiolia (Stem) Extract: Mainly used for treating hayfever, but it is also thought to aid treatment of diabetes, as it reduces blood glucose levels. There is no evidence linking this ingredient to weight loss, and it may even prevent loss of body weight.

So What Does All This Mean?

There are two different formulations of this product available. Both use ingredients originating from Ayurvedic medicine, and so whilst there is a long history of some of these ingredients being used as medicine, there appears to be very little research for these ingredients, especially linking their use to weight loss or muscle gain.

Even looking at their reputation based upon traditional use, there is still very little to suggest if or how these products aid weight loss. However, just because there is little clinical evidence does not necessarily mean these ingredients are ineffective at providing ‘hardening and leaning support’.

N-Coumaroyldopamine and N-Caffeoyldopamine, used in the older formula of Compound 20, have strong evidence in human cells that they could cause an increase in the metabolism.

Does USPlabs Compound 20 Have Any Side Effects?

Some customers have mentioned experiencing side effects in their product reviews. These side effects have included dizziness, dry lips, increased appetite, feeling lightheaded, upset stomach, feeling nauseated, tiredness, twitching, night sweats, acne, increased libido, mood swings and increased anger and increases in body temperature.

There is very little information available about the possible side effects that could occur using the individual ingredients used in either formula of Compound 20.

Any USPlabs Compound 20 Reviews From Customers?

There are a wide variety of product reviews left by customers for compound 20 at bodybuilding.com. Positive comments generally seem to suggest both weight loss and a general ‘tighter’ appearance.

I did my research and reviews on this before I bought it and noticed most people started seeing results after 2 weeks. It took me about a month to start seeing the results and I work out 3 times a week. I recommend buying a 2 month supply for best results. It does help harden and make muscle more defined. When I first started taking it, it gave me a great focus the first few times I took it. I’ve had big strength gains while taking this along with other supplements. I did not lose body fat while taking this like others did. Overall I would say it’s a good supplement and if you have the money it’s worth trying out.

This supplement was amazing. I had been taking this about 1 week before I had started conditioning and I had lost a decent amount of fat and looked much more muscular compared to fat. Once I started working out, my body kept its tight look while not putting on too much muscle and taking away fat. It felt like in 2 weeks, the fat just melted off and left me with muscle.

I have completed my first bottle of this product and it was a great product in my opinion. I’m so happy and the quality is better than I expected and I recommend it.

The caps are easy to swallow. I have heard of people saying it made their body temp go up, but for me it didn’t. Around 3 weeks into the month supple I noticed I was drier and my veins showed more. Not like a pump show more, they were visible all the time even when not working out. After taking this for a month and looking at my pictures I looked more lean and less bloated.

Whilst some customers felt they may have benefitted from the supplement, they also experienced side effects:

Really tough to tell. When I took these pre-workout I noticed that I would get very dizzy and light headed. I swapped to taking them post workout and the side effects wore off. I did feel very lean and tight but I also eat a really solid diet so I can’t say this supp did all that. For the right price, I would buy this product, definitely not a must buy though.

Great product to take while trying to add muscle while staying lean. I have taken Compound 20 for 8 weeks (2 bottles) and was able to gain 5 pounds while keeping my definition the same. Only side effects I encountered were dry lips and increased appetite. It feels like I can eat whatever I want and it won’t affect my body fat% at all. You start to get that dry feel/look around week three. I would for sure suggest this to anyone looking to bulk but avoid adding body fat.

However, there are some negative reviews for the product. These reviews tend to not go into much detail:

Didn’t work for me.

Didn’t quite work…

So Does USPlabs Compound 20 Work?

Because the reviews could cover both formulas of Compound 20, and the date the formula was changed is unclear, there is no real way of knowing which formula is more effective from the customer reviews.

There are numerous customers who state that results can only really be seen after two or three weeks of use, but at from this point on the product is effective. Customers who do try the product are advised to use the product as directed for the whole bottle, stopping early only if they experience side effects.

This product is also intended to be used by those who are working out consistently and regularly, and so those do no exercise are unlikely to see significant results.

There is a lack of research into the ingredients and how they may work, although there is a history of the ingredients being used in traditional Indian medicines, in some cases for the purpose of aiding weight loss.

Based upon the customer reviews, the product is well-received by those who undertake vigorous exercise designed to build muscle, as they like the eventual results. Some side effects may occur.

Where Can I Buy USPlabs Compound 20?

The updated formula of Compound 20 from USPlabs is available from bodybuilding.com, at a price of $39.99 per bottle of 132 capsules. This equates to 66 servings, which will last the consumer 33 days, if taken as described in the instructions.

Compound 20 is also available from amazon.com, although it appears that the seller may be offering bottles containing the older formula. Here the product costs $38.99 per bottle, with free shipping. However, each bottle of the older formula contains 120 capsules, enough for 30 days of use.

What About A Guarantee

This will vary according to who you purchase the supplement from.

Bodybuilding.com have a comprehensive returns policy, which covers used and unused products. If they are unable to offer an exchange or refund, often they provide store credit instead.

Watchdog Verdict

The manufacturers of Compound 20 have failed to provide a lot of information on their official website, including what the product actually is supposed to do, what the ingredients are, and how they work. There is also the problem of there being two different formulas of this diet pill, both of which seem to be in circulation still- this makes it more difficult to establish how effective each version of the product is.

Third party retailers have provided slightly more information in the form of two different ingredients lists, but in truth there is little information available explaining exactly how the ingredients affect the body. Certainly there is insufficient evidence from clinical trials to link the ingredients strongly to weight loss.

However, customer reviews do indicate that a large section of customers benefit from the use of compound 20, provided they follow a rigorous exercise and strength training regimen. On the other hand, this leaves the product fairly unsuitable for the majority of dieters, especially when taking into account the long list of health restrictions provided by the manufacturers.

Overall, we cannot recommend Compound 20 from USPlabs, as it is not suitable for the majority of diet pill users, and there is not enough information or evidence to support its effectiveness and use.
