The Diet Pills Watchdog Ingredient Videos: Yohimbe
Yohimbe and yohimbine are essentially two sides of the same coin, but while one is meant to increase the male libido, the other is supposed to help with weight loss.
It's yohimbe that's purported to be the one that can help you reduce your bodyweight, as it stimulates the nervous system to produce more adrenaline and therefore burn fat.
It's also supposed to help increase the amount of energy you expend while you're at rest.
However, much of this is speculation, as yohimbe hasn't had that much testing done on it, unlike yohimbine, which has faced extensive studies into its aphrodisiac properties. Of the trials that have been done, their results have been inconclusive at best.
What they did show is that there can be some unpleasant side effects from using the supplement, such as dizziness and light-headedness.
The yohimbine tests showed that heart and kidney diseases, along with psychiatric problems, can result from use, and it wouldn't be unfair to suggest that these issues could arise when using yohimbe too.
All in all, these possible side effects would suggest you should shy away from using yohimbe, at least until more tests are done into its effectiveness as a fat burner.
